LVT has become the most requested floor in Shropshire homes, and with good reason: it gives you the look of oak, walnut, slate or limestone with underfloor-heating compatibility, water resistance and none of the sanding, sealing or swelling that comes with real timber. We fit glue-down LVT and click LVT for homeowners, landlords, builders and commercial clients.
It is also the least forgiving covering we lay. Every dip, ridge and board joint under a 2mm plank eventually shows on the surface, so we treat preparation as most of the job — latex screed to level, primer on dusty concrete, plywood over movement and a membrane where damp is a risk.
Herringbone, chevron and feature borders
Patterned layouts live or die on the set-out. We work from the centre line of the room, or from the sightline as you walk in, so the pattern lands square and the cuts at the walls are even on both sides. Herringbone and chevron in a hallway, a brick bond through a kitchen, borders and inlays to frame an island — all of it is planned on the floor before any adhesive goes down.
Because LVT is fitted plank by plank, it also copes well with awkward Shropshire cottage rooms where nothing is square, and a damaged plank can be lifted and replaced later without redoing the whole floor.

LVT questions we are asked
- Is LVT better than laminate?
- For most rooms, yes. LVT is quieter and warmer underfoot, far more water resistant, thinner at thresholds and available in patterns like herringbone. Laminate is cheaper up front but does not tolerate standing water.
- Can LVT be laid over underfloor heating?
- Yes, almost all LVT is suitable for wet or electric underfloor heating within the manufacturer's temperature limits. The system must be commissioned and run up gradually before and after fitting, and we will talk you through that.
- Does the floor need screeding first?
- Usually. LVT is thin, so any unevenness shows through. We check the subfloor at the quote stage and include any latex screeding, priming or plywood overlay you need in the written price.
